Solomon White Castle

If you are looking for an eccentric but famous abode then consider Solomon’s Castle as an ideal option.  That is, if you can shell out $2.5 million. It may not be the castle of the wise leader King Solomon but it is by itself a historical home after being the residence of artists Howard Solomon.  The castle, which has been featured in HGTV’s “Most Extreme Homes in America”, boasts of a dining hall that can accommodate 60 people. Surrounding the castle is a moat which is the location of a 60-foot replica of the Spanish Galleon.

The 70-acre property does not only have a creek frontage but also has housing accommodations for almost everyone. Built as early as 1972, the castle is filled with the eccentric art works of Solomon including sculpture made from scrap and waste materials. The three-story castle is covered with aluminium printing plates used by newspapers.

The house also boasts of being covered by 90 stained glass windows, each set following a color and design code. Solomon’s Castle is located in Ona, Central Florida which is just a two-hour drive to the Orlando attractions as well as to the Tampa International Airport. The castle has 5 bedrooms, a commercial kitchen, a Bell Tower, horse stables and nature trails.
